3.5 Tonne Horsebox Self-drive Hire

Whether you are having a competitive day out, a trip to some different countryside or the beach for a hack, the purchase of a new horse or pony, a yard move or a vet’s appointment, our Equi-Trek Sonic 3.5T horsebox is the ideal self-drive vehicle. It combines a reputation for being one of the safest, best equipped and most luxurious 3.5 tonne horseboxes on the market today, with an impressive 30-35 mpg fuel economy. Please note that our horsebox self dive hire service is only available to clients from 25 to 75 years of age and who have held a FULL UK car driving licence for at least 2 years. When collecting the self drive hire vehicle, the hirer & named driver will need to produce the following: Their Full Driving Licence (BOTH the Photocard and Counterpart) Two utility bills dated within 3 months of the hire date showing their name and current address PLEASE NOTE – If the named driver’s driving licence is the older paper type, which does not have photographic ID, then they MUST bring their passport, as well as driving licence. Without these documents we will be unable to hire out the horsebox. Horses are not insured for transport with South East Equestrian Transport Self Hire – It is the hirer’s responsibility to insure their horses in transit. Passports must accompany the horses whilst travelling. A £500 insurance excess deposit is required; repaid immediately when lorry returned in an acceptable condition.

When possible we offer this service at an additional charge, please ask for details. How to book:
Horsebox hire bookings can be made either by phone or email However we will require at least one telephone conversation with you during the booking process in order to clarify all details, enter you into our diary and take a deposit.

- Full day hire (up to 250 miles return trip) £100.00
- Additional mileage will be charged at the current rate of 35p per mile
- Collect the night before for an extra £20

- Insurance and breakdown cover included
(£500 insurance excess deposit required; repaid immediately when lorry is returned in an acceptable condition)
- Lorry will be provided with a full tank of fuel and should be returned full
